of the top teams in the country in this year's Disney
Soccer Showcase. Annandale secured two wins and a draw
in group play, then defeated Chicago Fire Juniors 3-1 in
the final. Successful National League Debut With three wins and a loss, Annandale United is in a tight race for
the top spot in the US Youth Soccer National League. The National League competition is for the nation's top teams in the Under-15, Under-16 and Under-17 boys and girls age groups.
The top two teams in each age group get an automatic
birth in the National Championship. State Cup Champions (Again) Annandale United have been crowned State
Cup champions for the second year in a row, defeating
rival Herdon FC 6-0 in the final. Region 1 League Champions Annandale finished second in the South
Division with a record to 5W 1L 1T, but triumphed in the
playoffs with the North Division, defeating Commack in
the semi-final and Penn Fusion Academy in the final. Alliance Cup Champions! This March tournament pulled together many of the best teams on the east coast and as far away as Ohio and Michigan. For the first time, Annandale played Waza FC (Michigan) from the USYSA National League, winning 1-0. The United were to face rival Penn Fusion in the final, but the Fusion forfeited the match. See the results... State Cup Champions! On November 8, 2009, Annandale United secured
its first State Cup championship, defeating PWSI Courage
Red 3:0 in the final. It took five wins to accomplish
this feat. 17 goals scored and only one against. Olney Capital Cup Champions! Annandale secured another championship this Labor Day. Six of the 8 teams competing traveled to Maryland from Virginia. See the results...
US Club Soccer Region B Champions! MAPS Cup Champions! Four wins (and a loss) helped the United secure the top spot at the MAPS Cup 2009 tournament in New Jersey in mid-June. The United fell to Dix Hills Thunder, the top U14 team in the country, in a preliminary round, but defeated them in the final. Results... # 6 in the United States GotSoccer has some methodology problems, but it's still the only game in town for ranking teams nationally. The United are now #6 in the country out of more than 2,300 teams, and 2nd in the region. Rankings... Division One Champions! The United secured nine consecutive victories to win the top flight of the National Capital Soccer League. Only two other teams in NCSL registered a perfect season (out of more than 425 teams). Over the past four seasons, the United's record is 30-3-3. Results... Potomac Memorial Day - Finalist The United went 3-0 in group play, then defeated Maryland State Champions Casa Mia Bays in the semi-final before losing to Herndon FC in a nail-biter final Results... Arlington Spring Invitational - Finalist The United made the finals by tying long-time rival Team America, defeating State Cup champions Herndon FC and hosts Arlington Generals. Lost 1:0 to Olney Rangers in the final. Results... Disney Soccer Showcase - Semifinalists Annandale ended up in a three-way tie in group play, with two wins (CASL Elite and Bethesda) and a loss (1-0, to Florida champs Kendall Soccer Coalition). Tie-breaker rules placed us second. A 2nd place consolation match resulted in a 5-1 victory over Match Fit Chelsea Academy games from New Jersey. Results...
